Well on Our Way

As we wrap up the three-month public phase segment of the ChinaSource vision campaign entitled A Renewed Vision for the Chinese Church in a New Era, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has chosen to pray for and support ChinaSource in this exciting season of ministry alongside Chinese Christians in the Mainland and diaspora! Your response has been encouraging, as $161,335 has been pledged or given, bringing the overall total to $1,111,335 in pledges and gifts from almost 200 individuals and organizations. We still have a way to go to reach our goal of $1.8 million, but we are 62% of the way there, and many friends have indicated an interest in still being involved. So, we expect the number of partnering friends to increase and the overall amount to grow in the days ahead. You can follow our progress on the ChinaSource website in the Vision Campaign page. It is not too late to give, or to pray

Leaving a Legacy

We want to offer our special thanks as well to those who have pledged toward our legacy gift goal of $500,000. So far, $295,000 has been pledged through a future bequest or other planned giving opportunity. Your legacy will strengthen the spiritual impact of ChinaSource for generations to come.

If you are interested in discussing a legacy gift, please email Kerry Schottelkorb at [email protected].

Forward Together

With God’s help and thanks to the prayers and sacrificial support of so many friends, we are growing according to his purposes for ChinaSource. As a result, following are some fruitful kingdom outcomes:

  • Strengthening prayer mobilization through helping to build an intergenerational global prayer network of informed intercessors—lifting up China, the diaspora, and emerging leaders
  • Helping to prepare China’s next generation of leaders
  • Partnership building and convening: 54 new partnerships (and growing)
  • Coordination among ministries serving China and the diaspora
  • Expanded bilingual content: Our goal is that ultimately all ChinaSource content will be available in Chinese and English
  • Vital new staff and expertise added in the areas of operations, editing, content, translation, IT, and communications
  • Strategic participation in global Chinese gatherings
  • The new ChinaSource website has been launched
  • 132,000+ global website users
  • Increasing Chinese authorship —now 64% of ChinaSource content—and elevation of Chinese voices
  • Enhanced digital infrastructure for a global audience

Partnership in the Gospel

For almost thirty years, ChinaSource has walked alongside the church in China, as well as the global church that has been seeking to engage with China. Along the way, the Holy Spirit has guided and empowered ChinaSource to help build trusted relationships, bilingual resources, deep understanding, praying communities, and actionable, missional partnerships. On behalf of the ChinaSource Staff, Board of Directors, and vast network of volunteers, thank you for your partnership in the gospel and in equipping a new generation of believers who will carry the Good News forward with wisdom, courage, and unity in Christ!

Ways to Pray

Praise

  • Praise the Lord that even as restrictions in the Mainland have squeezed certain churches, many young people are looking to grow deeper in their faith and theological understanding. Please see, The Theological Coming of Age of the Chinese ChurchAndrew Chiang, May 12, 2026
  • Praise the Lord that despite the headlines, now is a great time to visit China, and Joann Pittman says, “DO IT!” See Traveling to China, May 11, 2026

Prayer

The meetings between Presidents Xi and Trump have come and gone. However, among others, the prayer requests offered by Matthew Cookson in his article As Trump and Xi Meet: Praying for China, America, and the Global Church, May 13, 2026, remain timely and relevant.

  • Please pray for believers suffering under detention and pressure, and for their families as they face uncertain futures.
  • Pray that the gospel will spread rapidly among the Chinese people.
  • Pray Luke 10:2 over China, asking that more believers would answer the call to share the gospel across China.
  • Please pray for Presidents Xi and Trump—for humility and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and a personal response to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, that will inform their decisions and policy making.
