“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”). Matthew 1:23 (NIV)
Immanuel’s Year!
Warm Advent and Christmas greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I am writing at the beginning of the third week of Advent; the week of joy and rejoicing! The year 2025 has been one of rejoicing for the ChinaSource team. Immanuel has indeed been with us, guiding and directing throughout. Along the way, the staff and board of ChinaSource have been privileged to grow together with an increasing network of friends, seeking to learn and serve alongside Chinese Christians in the Mainland and the diaspora. We are very blessed and thankful people!
Looking Back
Over the last 28 years, ChinaSource has become a hub for prayer, strategic collaboration, theological reflection, and kingdom-focused action. We believe God has prepared ChinaSource for the days ahead by uniquely positioning us to:
- Provide trusted, balanced insight into China’s ministry landscape.
- Convene leaders across denominations and nations.
- Equip the church globally with tools, training, and context-sensitive analysis.
- Partner in strategic ministry initiatives that serve the Chinese and global church.
Looking Forward
As we head into 2026, Immanuel is guiding us to focus on the following strategic initiatives that will help cultivate resilient faith in the Chinese and global church, as we seek to learn and grow together:
1. Sharing Biblical Perspectives by creating accessible materials that address contemporary challenges from a biblical foundation. These will come especially by way of the redesign and organization of the ChinaSource website, coming soon in 2026!
2. Featuring and Strengthening Chinese Christian Voices: Building networks linking believers with supportive faith communities through sustained involvement in new conferences and gatherings that encourage mutual learning and collaboration.
3. Equipping and Strengthening Ministry Leaders: Capturing and sharing stories of resilient faith, across generations, that encourage believers worldwide through Chinese church voices and our commitment to widening the base of Chinese content providers on the ChinaSource website.
4. Fostering Intergenerational Dialogue and Partnership by creating platforms where seasoned believers and younger generations can share experiences and learn from one another, cultivating mutual encouragement and discipleship.
In an era of accelerating, sometimes even volatile change, Immanuel has blessed ChinaSource to be a vital connection point between China’s believers and the worldwide Christian community. We hope you will partner with us in serving and learning alongside Chinese Christians for the glory of God and his kingdom advance among the nations in 2026!
Thank you for prayerfully considering a year-end gift to the “Cultivating Resilient Faith”campaign!
Immanuel Every Step!
One of the breath prayers I love to utter on a regular basis is “Immanuel every step!” As I breathe this prayer, I’m not only thanking him that he is present and with me but also expressing my desire to totally embrace him and his will for me in that moment.
This is also the desire of the ChinaSource team. We are extremely thankful for Immanuel’s presence, guidance, and blessing in 2025, and we warmly invite you to join us in offering our total dependence and trust in Immanuel as he will soon welcome us into 2026.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the ChinaSource Team!
