Thank you, Dan

Dan Kennicutt served his final day with the ChinaSource community as the ChinaSource director of finance on June 30, 2025. Dan served on the team for five and a half years and has become a close friend and colleague to us all. Dan’s portfolio extended far beyond his excellent financial oversight. He has been at the center of the ChinaSource strategic planning process and a mainstay in our internal operations, vitally laying the groundwork for the new ChinaSource vice president of operations position. Before Aaron Settle came aboard full-time, Dan kindly overlapped with him on a part-time basis in May and June to help with the transition.

Thankfully, Dan won’t be a stranger and will continue with us in an advisory as well as intercessory capacity, which is his great passion.

Dan, on behalf of the ChinaSource staff and board, I want to express our thanks for your friendship and sacrificial investment in the ChinaSource vision and mission over the last five and a half years. We’re looking forward to continuing and growing our close friendship in the days ahead!

Welcome to ChinaSource, Aaron and Kelly!

We’re pleased to welcome Aaron Settle to ChinaSource as our first-ever vice president of operations. On July 1, Aaron began working full-time on the ChinaSource team. He previously served with Elim Fellowship as the assistant director of global ministries, managing the daily operations of the global ministries office, responding to all requests on financial matters and field needs from over 100 field workers. Aaron comes to us skilled, experienced, and called to the position we have been seeking and praying to start for some time now. He will consolidate and lead internal-facing functions to better support our external-facing departments. The goal is to ensure smoother operations and clearer decision-making structures so that ChinaSource’s external work—publications, partnerships, and advancement—will thrive with strong internal support.

Next month, Aaron will introduce himself in this space, and you will see why we are so grateful he is on the team!

On July 1, we also welcomed our new assistant content manager, Kelly Carlson, to the ChinaSource team. Kelly is passionate about China, the Chinese church, and serving alongside Chinese Christians in the mainland and the diaspora. She will be collaborating with our content manager, Andrea Lee, continuing to keep our website and other platforms updated with accurate and compelling content while featuring the voices of Chinese Christianity. In the weeks ahead, we will make sure to get you acquainted with Kelly as well.

ChinaSource is all about people who are committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and to serving alongside Chinese Christians in the mainland and the diaspora. The greatest indication that we are meeting the kingdom objectives God has given us is the fruitfulness of a growing network of staff, board, and volunteers. Thank you for your prayers for the ChinaSource team—especially for Aaron Settle and Kelly Carlson in their new roles and ministries with ChinaSource.
