As Easter approaches, we are invited once again to slow down, reflect, and remember.
We remember the cross—Christ’s suffering and sacrifice.
We wait in the quiet of Holy Saturday.
And we look toward the hope of the resurrection.
But Easter is never only about our personal faith. It reminds us that we belong to a global body.
Across China today, many believers are walking this same journey under very different circumstances. Some gather quietly. Some lead without recognition. Others face pressure in their workplaces, communities, or even within their own families. And yet, their faith endures.
Scripture reminds us that “if one member suffers, all suffer together” (1 Corinthians 12:26). To prepare for Easter, then, is also to remember our brothers and sisters—and to stand with them in prayer.
To help us do this, we are sharing a responsive prayer guide for the church in China.
This prayer invites us to intercede for:
- Pastors and leaders who are imprisoned or under restriction
- Congregations continuing without visible leadership
- Parents raising children in challenging environments
- Believers who have experienced loss because of their faith
- Government officials—that their hearts may be softened
It begins with a simple but powerful reminder:
“Though they are physically distant from us, they are our brothers and sisters…bound to us by one Spirit and one hope.”
This is not distant prayer. It is shared life.
At Easter, we proclaim that suffering is not the end of the story. The cross is real—but so is the resurrection. The witness of believers in China reflects this truth in profound ways. Their endurance points us back to the unshakable hope we celebrate—Christ is risen, and his kingdom cannot be overcome.
We invite you to set aside time this week—personally, with your family, or within your church—to pray through this guide. Let it shape your prayers with greater awareness, humility, and love for the global church.
