Welcome to ChinaSource Online!

Since China’s reopening to the outside world three decades ago, faith-based organizations have played a quiet yet significant role in contributing to China’s social, economic and spiritual development. Teaching on university campuses, providing medical care in rural villages, starting new enterprises, helping to train church leaders, responding in times of natural disaster—volunteers from within China and around the world have provided valuable service in a spirit of love and with a message of hope.

ChinaSource plays a catalytic role amidst these entities, identifying critical issues and convening leaders to formulate and implement effective strategies. Born out of a felt need in the early 1990s for greater collaboration among the increasing number of organizations engaging with China, the work of ChinaSource has since grown to include ongoing research, publications, and various types of consultations and conferences. Our purpose remains the same: to enhance effectiveness through promoting informed service and collaboration among those called to serve China.

Here at ChinaSource Online you will find many resources pertaining to China, its peoples, history, culture, and opportunities for service in the middle kingdom. Through forums and blogs you will gain the perspectives of many with a broad range of China experience. Their voices represent diverse nationalities and come from both inside and outside China. We invite you to share your own thoughts and ideas as well.
