Considering Rinchen's life, and the lives of thousands of others in similar circumstances, immediately makes me wonder what would happen if I, or any other foreign Christian, were to come across him.
I have heard many people liken Chinese New Year to Christmas. There are certain colors that are displayed, certain traditions and customs followed and certain symbolisms and meanings attached to both celebrations.
Reflecting on the 18th century it is somewhat easy to recall many of the events and personalities that ruled that busy period of history.
